Bent Electrical Contractors completed a generator system upgrade at the Science and Technology Center to strengthen emergency power reliability and protect critical research operations. The project included removal of the existing generator, installation of a new diesel emergency generator, new automatic transfer switches, and full integration with the building’s existing switchgear and distribution systems.
The upgraded system supports life safety, legally required standby, and select research loads, improving overall resiliency and compliance with current NEC and NFPA requirements. Work was carefully phased to maintain continuous building operations, with detailed coordination to minimize disruption to active laboratories and campus facilities.
